Located on Whadjuk Country, Cameron Chisholm Nicol acknowledge and respect the Whudjuk people as the original custodians of the land upon which we work.

We are an Australian architecture and interior design studio headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Established in 1884, CCN is one of the oldest architectural practices in Australia.

The firm has gained recognition for its diverse portfolio, encompassing a wide range of project sectors including residential & mixed use, workplace architecture & interiors, sport & entertainment, communities & places, hospitality & retail, education & science, health & aged care and advisory services.

Key Team Members

Dominic Snellgrove

Managing Director

  • Dominic has over 35 years of professional experience across key project sectors including office, residential, retail, hotel and mixed use.

    He studied architecture in London at the Architectural Association and worked in Berlin, London and Sydney prior to moving to Perth with his family in 2004.

    In Sydney, Dominic was the concept and design architect for 30 The Bond, the former Lendlease Head Office, and the first 5 Star Green-Star As-Built rated office building in Australia. It was awarded ‘Building of the Decade’ for the 2000’s by the RAIA NSW Bulletin as well as the AIA Commercial Buildings Award in 2004.

    Dominic was the CCN Project Director for the RAC Arena, a competition winning project and JV with ARM. RAC Arena won the AIA George Temple Poole WA State Award and the Sir Zelman Cowan Australian National Award for Public Architecture in 2012.

    Dominic’s design and project work has been widely recognised with industry awards, including the Pocket in Claremont, which received the AIA Harold Krantz WA State Award for Residential Architecture, and Heirloom Residential Apartments which received the Heritage Council WA, the Gerry Gauntlet Award.

    In 2018 Dominic received a Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Architects which is awarded to those who have demonstrated a significant contribution to the architecture profession beyond architecture practice.

    He is currently both Chair and Panel Member of multiple Design Review Panels including the WA State Design Review Panel, The City of Perth Design Review Panel and the Development WA Design Review Panel.

Peter Keleman

Director

  • Peter has over 30 years’ experience in all facets of Architectural design and delivery. He has a broad-ranging skillset from delivering projects in Sydney, Canberra, London, Warsaw and Perth, in sectors ranging from multi-unit residential, to workplace (interiors), education, sport, community and health.

    Since moving to Perth and joining Cameron Chisholm Nicol in 2006, Peter commenced his career in WA as the Project Architect for the Perth (RAC) Arena project. Subsequentially Peter led our consultancy to the State for the Optus Stadium and New Children’s Hospital and later the Karratha Health Campus.

    Peter has also led workplace and workshop projects for Western Power and PTA, delivered multiple health projects across the WA Wheatbelt, delivered several secondary education projects and led the Toodyay Recreation project that included aquatic facilities, sports fields, courts and community facilities.

    Peter currently leads our Health team whilst also delivering Workplace (Interiors), sporting projects as well as a further Government Advisory Commissions. These include the METRONET Urban Design and Architectural advisory and the Department of Health, Licencing and Accreditation Unit (LARU) consultancy. Peter has also been a member of the Property Council Urban Planning Committee for many years and was an Alternate Specialist Member for the Joint Development Assessment Panels.

Jackson Liew

Director

  • Jackson has nearly 20 years of experience gained across multiple sectors including education, sports, transport, commercial, mixed use, and multi-residential including build to rent, build to sell, co-living, aged care and retirement living.

    Prior to joining CCN , Jackson was involved in the delivery of WA’s first 6 Star Green Star Green Skills building for the Central Institute of Technology; and the redevelopment of Perth’s Forrest Place which was awarded the Australia’s Great Place Award by the Planning institute of Australia (PIA) in 2014.

    Since joining the practice in 2014, Jackson has contributed to the delivery of four primary school campuses under WA’s first Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement for the Department of Education; RAAFA’s Cirrus Apartments and Clubhouse which received the finalist nomination in the 2023 PCA National Retirement Living awards; and Rosewood Aged Care in West Perth which was awarded the UDIA WA 2022 Seniors Living Development of the year and subsequently received the UDIA National Awards for Excellence for Seniors Living in the following year.

    Jackson has led the design of multiple build-to-rent projects. He was one of the keynote speakers at the PCA Future of Residential Conference in 2022, and has also delivered a presentation on Build-to-Rent as part of the PCA Academy Course in the same year. He holds a role as Architectural Advisory/Project Engineer (PE) for the PTA on a number of infrastructure projects including the Canning Bridge Train Station Upgrades project, Mandurah multi-storey car park project and the Public Transport Operations Control Centre (PTOCC).

    Jackson is currently a member of several Local Authority Design Review Panels including the City of Stirling, the City of Canning, City of Joondalup, City of Melville, Town of Cambridge and South West Design Review Panel. He is a member of the Property Council Australia (WA) Residential Committee whilst maintaining his role as a sessional tutor and thesis supervisor at the Curtin School of Design and the Built Environment for the past four years. He also serves on the judging panel for the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.

Gavin Broom

Practice Manager

  • Gavin is the Practice Manager at Cameron Chisholm Nicol and a former Director. He has gained extensive experience over 45 years as an Architect across a broad range of project sectors including retail, education, commercial, multi-residential, entertainment, mixed-use and industrial.

    Using expertise, knowledge and understanding Gavin has developed skillsets across all project phases. He has worked collaboratively with the CCN Design Team to prepare feasibility studies for over 45 potential and real projects. Gavin has been involved in more than 20 shopping centre projects, he combines management skills and attention to detail to all tasks as well as providing Advisory Services involving Due Diligence and Expert Witness Reports for our clients. Gavin provides ongoing advice on contractual and technical matters to colleagues within the practice.

    He strives to maintain and improve our Quality Assurance systems, standards, services, and outputs across all operational levels of the practice and on projects. Gavin also continues to be an active examiner on behalf of the Architects Board of WA, a role which spans more than 30 years.

Ben Tremlett

Associate Director

  • With over 25 years of architectural experience, Ben Tremlett is a seasoned professional with expertise spanning across multiple facets of the architectural profession. His capabilities extend to commercial, retail, multi-residential, mixed use, and hospitality projects, showcasing a diverse portfolio that demonstrates his versatility and adaptability.

    At the core of Ben's thinking lies a deep appreciation for the creative process, which he harnesses to develop innovative solutions. His methodology revolves around finding practical and effective answers to design challenges, placing a strong emphasis on problem-solving. Ben's approach is driven by the principles of sustainability, human comfort, and the creation of joyous, inspiring spaces.

    Throughout his career, Ben has honed his skills in conceptualizing and executing projects that seamlessly blend functionality, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility. His ability to envision and translate client requirements into visually stunning and highly functional spaces has earned him a reputation for excellence.

    With a passion for sustainability, Ben consistently seeks to incorporate environmentally aware design strategies into his work. He understands the importance of minimizing the ecological footprint of projects while maximizing energy efficiency, utilizing renewable resources, and integrating sustainable materials.

    Beyond his technical expertise, Ben possesses exceptional communication and collaboration skills, allowing him to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams. He values strong relationships and believes that open dialogue and shared vision are vital to achieving successful outcomes.

    As a registered architect with an extensive career history, Ben Tremlett brings a wealth of experience, a creative mindset, and a commitment to sustainability to every project he undertakes. His ability to create inspiring, functional, and environmentally conscious spaces has made him a trusted and sought-after professional in the architectural industry.

Sarah Corderoy

Associate

  • Sarah is a senior architect with more than 20 years of experience gained across the full spectrum of architectural practice from brief development and schematic design through to contract administration. She has taken many projects from inception to final completion.

    Sarah is a specialist in the health and aged care sector. She strives to facilitate positive user experiences for residents and patients, as well as family/supporters and staff, whilst enabling efficient and functional service delivery.

    Sarah has put this approach into practice on Cameron Chisholm Nicol projects such as:

    Murdoch Community Health Hub for Department of Finance and CAHS, Laverton Hospital for Department of Finance and WACHS (Goldfields), WACHS Stimulus Health Service upgrades at Boddington, Dalwallinu, Kondinin, Narembeen and Wongan Hills for Department of Finance and WACHS (Wheatbelt), SwanCare Ningana Aged Care Facility in Bentley, Southern Cross and York Health Service upgrades as part of the SIHI project for Department of Finance and WACHS (Wheatbelt) and PlusLife Midland (Perth Bone and Tissue bank).

    Additionally, whilst at CCN Sarah has led WA Children’s Hospice Detailed Business Case project, Armadale Hospital upgrades and worked as architectural advisor to the State on the Karratha Health Campus project. Prior to commencing at Cameron Chisholm Nicol Sarah worked extensively on the WA Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Nedlands, and on many aged care and retirement living projects including Brightwater Kingsway Court in Madeley.

    Sarah is a proactive architect with the ability to effectively communicate with clients to understand and perceptively respond to their needs. She brings valuable technical and design skills to the practice and her passion for health care design to our team.

Josh Martin

Associate

  • Josh arrived to our Australian shores in 2006 with his family before completing his Bachelors (2010) and Masters (2012) at UWA here in Perth. In his professional work prior to CCN, Josh worked across a variety of social issue projects within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander not for profit communities dealing with refuge from domestic violence, drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, and aged care facilities across metro WA and in the Pilbara. Notably working on the documentation and delivery of the 2013 “Harold Krantz Award for Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing” winning entry Lime St Accommodation, Josh honed his skills with 3D documentation via Revit and experienced the importance of on site knowledge to maximise the delivery of quality project outcomes.

    Joining Cameron Chisholm Nicol in 2015, Josh has worked on various scales of projects as both a member of the documentation team, and as a lead architect overseeing whole project delivery, even being recognized in 2019 for his exceptional client service on Narembeen Hospital Redevelopment as part of the WA Department of Finance Architectural Services performance award.

    In recent years, Josh has been instrumental across a variety of large & complex projects during the contract admin phase acting as Super’s Representative during construction. As Superintendent, Josh is a calm and measured presence who prides himself on communication and achieving results while still maintaining open, fair, and honest communication among all parties. As a leader within the company, he actively fosters the growth of our graduates towards full qualifications by attending and contributing his contract administration knowledge to our registration group sessions in the lead up to the exams.

    Josh is an ordered and methodical architect who maintains a high level of contract management during the construction process, and ensures that knowledge is used most effectively through documentation and delivery to the benefit of our clients.

Mihael Busan

Associate

  • Mihael studied architecture in Romania and Australia, joining CCN in 2018.

    He is a Registered Architect with over 7 years of experience gained across multiple sectors including Mixed Use Residential, Serviced Apartments, Build-to-Rent Apartments, Town House Development, Commercial Office, and Retail.

    Mihael is an accomplished Architect who has led multi-disciplinary teams on a number of projects and has since 2023 managed the IT and BIM infrastructure at CCN and made a strong contribution to our culture of Design Review and Excellence in Delivery. This stems from a desire to preserve, develop, and share knowledge to enable a more integrated approach to architectural design and documentation.

    A couple of recent projects that Mihael has been involved with include One Mabel Park Apartments, Burswood Multi-Residential Towers, 169 Guildford Road Mixed-Use Retail and Apartments, The Hatchery Serviced Apartments, Common User Facility for Research and Development in Neerabup, Glendalough Townhouses Precinct and Coles Woolstores Fremantle Mixed-Use Retail, Office & Early Learning.

    He is currently also part of the EmAGN committee, which promotes the contributions of emerging architects and graduates to the profession, providing a platform for networking and mentoring.
