Cameron Chisholm Nicol won the LandCorp design competition to develop 156 townhouses and apartments in the former Perry Lakes Stadium precinct in Floreat.

Influenced by the 1962 design of the original stadium and athletics village, the winning concepts use a design language derived from the Modern Movement whilst embodying current building techniques, planning ideas and sustainable design practices. The dwellings are designed to maximise solar access, cross ventilation, passive surveillance and engagement with street level.

The Podium townhouses – Podium West and Podium Central – are built on adjacent lots and comprise of a mix of 2- and 3- storey houses with 3 bedrooms, large private courtyard spaces and common or private carparking. The 3-storey houses address the main street frontage with pop-out balconies and living areas overlooking the street. The 2-storey houses face onto the laneways to provide activation.

Cameron Chisholm Nicol’s projects at Perry Lakes are a demonstration of the practice’s successful collaboration with prominent developers to realise the vision for key landmark sites and planned communities in the metropolitan area.
