M25 by Match, Mt Lawley
Mixed-use multi-residential and commercial development of 30 apartments and 6 commercial tenancies
Feasibility, full service architecture and interior design
Mount Lawley, WA
M25 by Match is a 3 storey, boutique mixed-use development in the heart of the Perth suburb of Mount Lawley.
The design features 30 apartments, in a mix of one- and two- bedroom configurations, and six commercial units. The architectural approach takes advantage of the dual-frontage site, creating a strong corner presence which draws inspiration from the suburb’s Federation-style red brick and terracotta houses.
The façade uses contrasting shapes, materials and colours to link the lively urbanism of Walcott Street with the quieter, residential character of Burt Street. Glazed commercial tenancies, shaded by a generous awning, provide amenity and interest at street level. A significant public artwork serves to engage with the community and reinforce the building’s unique identity.
The apartments surround a landscaped, central courtyard which assists with natural ventilation, allowing light and breezes to penetrate the circulation zones. Inspired by an art gallery aesthetic, interior finishes feature crisp black and white surfaces which will allow the occupants’ possessions to feature.
M25 will become a local landmark, offering architecturally-designed living in a convenient and desirable location.
