Design WA Released
Cameron Chisholm Nicol are very proud to have been involved in the development and testing of State Planning Policy 7.3 (SPP7), Design WA since its inception. SPP7 Volume 2 of the Residential Design Codes was released yesterday by the State Government and features our project The Pocket, by Georgiou Developments on the front cover.
Coming into effect on May 24th, Design WA will replace part 6 of the current R-Codes and will ensure future infill and apartments are built to consistent design standards. In particular, it will elevate the standards for natural light, good ventilation, local character, tree retention and quality open space. Containing performance based policies and benchmark projects that execute good design, the document will bring clarity and consistency as it will be applied across all local governments.
These exemplar projects include our projects Ocean Edge and Empire for Iris Residential, The Pocket for Georgiou Developments, Heirloom for M/Group and Kingston for Frasers Property Australia. We are passionate about apartment design and developing our city, and we applaud the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage and the Government of Western Australia for progressing this much needed reform.Click here for more information
