Perth Airport Pty Ltd
Bravo is an office building in a premium commercial precinct at the gateway to Perth’s domestic airport. The 5 level development has a net lettable area of 9,100m² and undercroft parking for 75 cars.
A number of master planning issues were addressed as part of the design process, including the ability to adapt to changes in land use as the Airport evolves. In response, Bravo is designed with a flow-through core layout which allows the building to be entered from both the north and south. The entry level has provision for a cafe and a gym over two levels. The remainder of the building is commercial office space with a flexible floor plate to accommodate a range of tenancy sizes.
Bravo’s contemporary aesthetic references its context within a modern, efficient city airport. Materials, colour and forms complement the adjacent Alpha HKew building whilst establishing an individual identity. Cladding is a pre-finished aluminium composite panel which offers a high-quality finish and excellent longevity.
ESD initiatives have been implemented to achieve a 4 Star Green Star rating (awarded on first submission) and 5 Star NABERS rating. These include energy efficient plant, electrical appliances and lighting, and water efficient appliances. Orientation and shading of fenestration reduces solar heat gain, and thermal insulation and detailing avoids heat gain through the façades. End-of-trip facilities encourage cycling to work, and an open stair is located within the core to reduce the use of lifts for travel between floors.
With its striking orange highlights and sleek façade, Bravo sets a new benchmark for quality office space within the precinct.
